I found out just how good the HVAC repair in NYC can be when my AC went out over the summer. I made the mistake of waiting to make a call to find someone to come out and look at it, and I should not have done that. In fact, it is rather silly that I did not do it. I would have saved myself a lot of hot, sweaty days if I wold have done it earlier.
I was in the middle of cleaning when the unit went out. I heard a strange noise, and I rushed to the window to look outside because I thought the noise was coming from my backyard. I did not see anything, and I even walked outdoors to take a look around. Then, I came back in and looked through every room. What I did not realize at first, was that I could no longer hear the air conditioning unit. The noise had occurred when it shut down, and I mistook it for something else.
About 30 minutes after I heard the noise, I noticed that my place felt a little warmer. But because I was so busy cleaning, I thought that was it. I kept up doing what I needed to do, when I felt hotter and hotter. Suddenly, it felt unbearable, and that is when I realized no cool air was circulating. So, aha! The noise was my unit shutting down But my big mistake was just to sit down and throw my hands up. I automatically assumed that it would be a lot of money to fix, and didn’t even bother to check into that. It took me about 3 months of saving money before I made a phone call. Someone came over right away, and the cost to fix the problem was only $100!
